PÁTEO DO COLÉGIO
Páteo do Colégio marks the site where the city was founded in 1554. It is the place where the first mass was held on January 25, 1554, the same date that the Apostle Paul converted to Christianity. That’s why the mass is dedicated to him and the name “Sao Paulo” is chosen as a tribute to represent the place that is now called “São Paulo de Piratininga“.

MUSEU DO IPIRANGA (IPIRANGA MUSEUM)
Located in Parque da Independencia, the Ipiranga Museum, also known as Museu Paulista, is the oldest public museum in the city of São Paulo. The museum was built in a place of great historical importance for Brazil, it was there, on the banks of the Ipiranga River that Dom Pedro I proclaimed Brazil’s independence from Portugal, on September 7, 1822. CATEDRAL DA SÉ (SÃO PAULO METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL)

EDIFÍCIO MARTINELLI (MARTINELLI BUILDING)
Known for its historical value, the Martinelli building was completed in 1929. It has 28 floors and was not only the first building to be built in the city of São Paulo but also the first in Latin America. The Martinelli building is currently undergoing a series of renovations that will enhance cultural, leisure and gastronomic spaces.

ESTAÇÃO DA LUZ (LUZ STATION)
Designed by the British Charles Henry Driver, Luz Station was opened in March 1901. It is one of the most important in São Paulo, around 400 thousand passengers pass through it every day. For the construction of Luz Station, metal structures, as well as other materials, were brought from England. The strong architectural influence also came from England, as it is possible to identify similarities with Big Ben and Westminster Abbey in the composition of the building.
Since 2006, it has also housed the Museu da Língua Portuguesa (Portuguese Language Museum).

TEATRO MUNICIPAL (MUNICIPAL THEATER OF SAO PAULO)
With its eclectic architecture, São Paulo Municipal Theater opened in September 1911 and was built to meet the cultural desires of São Paulo’s elite at the time. It is considered one of the most important stages in the country and, over the years, great renowned artists have performed there.
Currently, the Municipal Theater houses the São Paulo Municipal Symphony Orchestra, the São Paulo Municipal Lyric Choir and the São Paulo City Ballet.

MOSTEIRO DE SÃO BENTO (SÃO BENTO MONASTERY)
The São Bento Monastery is a religious complex composed of the Abacial Basilica Nossa Senhora da Assunção, the Colégio de São Bento and also the Faculdade de São Bento.
Mass with Gregorian chant is the highlight of this place. The main session takes place on Sundays at 10 am.

JULIO PRESTES STATION – SALA SÃO PAULO CONCERT HALL
Júlio Prestes Station is a historic railway station located in the center of the city of São Paulo. Currently, Julio Prestes Station houses the headquarters of the São Paulo Department of Culture and the concert hall called Sala São Paulo
Sala São Paulo is one of the most modern and well-equipped concert halls in the world. The place is the headquarters of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (Osesp) and was inaugurated in July 1999, built where there previously was a winter garden aimed at first class passengers.
