Ibirapuera Park is one of the most popular destinations, attracting not only tourists but also locals who want to escape the chaos of the concrete jungle and enjoy some quality time in nature.
Inaugurated on August 21, 1954, during the celebrations of the 4th Centennial of São Paulo, Ibirapuera Park is one of the most complete parks in terms of infrastructure. With an area of approximately 158 hectares, in addition to the rich vegetation it presents, the park has several cultural facilities, places for practicing sports and educational programming focused on the environment.
As the park is very large and has several entrances on different streets, a useful tip we can give is to find out in advance or locate on the map which destination you are interested in to access the park through the nearest gate. And, check the opening hours as each attraction may have specific opening hours.

- IBIRAPUERA LAKE (Lago do Ibirapuera)
Contemplative in nature, the lake has animals such as ducks and geese around it and bathing in it is not allowed.
Those who pass by Avenida Pedro Álvares Cabral can easily see the Ibirapuera lake and the ornamental fountains that, at night, offer a beautiful spectacle of colors and movement.


- IBIRAPUERA AUDITORIUM (Auditório do Ibirapuera)
The Ibirapuera Auditorium was named after its creator, Oscar Niemeyer. The entrance to the auditorium is marked by a beautiful sculpture by artist Tomie Ohtake.
Internally, the space has a capacity for 800 people, but a large door at the back of the stage allows it to be used for performances facing the lawn outside, increasing the audience to around 15,000 people.

- AFRO BRASIL MUSEUM (Museu Afro Brasil)
It aims to be a contemporary museum where the black people can be recognized.
Over than 6,000 works highlight the importance of African people in the formation of Brazilian culture, heritage and identity as known nowadays. Also, it offers a celebration of the art and accomplishments of the Africans and Afro-Brazilians.
The Collection is considered the largest Afro – American in American with more than 6,000 masterpieces, sculptures, documents, engravings, ceramics, paintings, contemporary arts, jewelry, objects, reliefs, photographs and textiles.

- SÃO PAULO BIENNAL FOUNDATION (Fundação Bienal)
The São Paulo Biennial Foundation is the institution responsible for promoting and organizing the São Paulo International Art Biennial since its 7th edition. The Biennial is headquartered at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, designed by Oscar Niemeyer and also known simply as the Biennial Pavilion.
However, throughout the year, other projects are also presented to the public, such as SP Arte, the Architecture Biennial and even São Paulo Fashion Week.


- JAPANESE PAVILION (Pavilhão Japonês)
The Japanese Pavilion, a partnership between the Japanese government and the Japanese-Brazilian community, was donated to the city of São Paulo in 1954, at the time of the park’s inauguration. With materials specially brought from Japan and built using the traditional Japanese construction system, the pavilion consists of a suspended main building, which houses a grand hall and several adjoining rooms, as well as an exhibition space and a charming garden, which includes a lake full of carp.

Opening Hours: from Thursday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is free on Thursdays, and on other days the entrance fee is R$15.00 full price and R$7.00 half price.

- SAO PAULO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo)
It is located under the marquee of Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo, in a building inserted in the architectural complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1954 and renovated by Lina Bo Bardi in 1982 to house the museum.
In addition to the exhibition rooms, the museum has a studio, library, auditorium, restaurant and store. The museum spaces are visually integrated with the Sculpture Garden, which was designed by Roberto Burle Marx in 1993 to house works from the collection. The place is a public space accessible to any visitor to the park, where it is possible to interact and see up close the works of artists such as Amilcar de Castro, Amelia Toledo, Franz Weissmann, Carlos Fajardo, among others.
Since 2010, the entrance to MAM has featured a large painting by the renowned artist duo OSGEMEOS. It is a very colorful mural that presents a playful scene, of a fantastic nature.

- MARQUISE DO IBIRAPUERA (Ibirapuera Canopy)
With beautiful sinuous lines when seen in plan, the Ibirapuera Canopy connects several buildings and is also a space designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer.


- OCA
With a futuristic design, Oca is another building designed by Oscar Niemeyer. It is an exhibition pavilion with over 10,000 m² and hosts exhibitions on a wide range of themes throughout the year.

- PLANETÁRIO (Planetarium)
The Ibirapuera Planetarium was the first to be built in Brazil. The location in the middle of the park makes for a very pleasant visit. Sessions take place on weekends and there are themes aimed at adults and children at affordable prices.

- MANEQUINHO LOPES PLANT NURSERY (Viveiro Manequinho Lopes)
The Manequinho Lopes Plant Nursery is a space dedicated to the conservation of various plant species. It is from there that the plant seedlings are produced for planting in the city’s public areas. Open to the public on weekdays, the tour allows you to see the greenhouses and the various species produced there. It is located near Gate 7.
- PLAYGROUND / SPORTS COURT / RENT BIKES
For the enjoyment of young people, children and the whole family, there are several toys in the playground and sports courts available. For those who want to ride a bike around the park, it is also possible to rent one there.


- IBIRATOUR
For those who wish to see the park in its entirety, it is possible to hire a tour that consists of a guided tour of the park aboard an electric cart, which allows visitors to enjoy all the beauty and diversity of the place in a comfortable and safe way, called Ibiratour.
